Jan Stapleton has been exhibiting professionally in Sydney commerical galleries and art shows for the past 20 years. Best known from 1985-1995 for her works in pastel, she reshaped and redefined her visual language in later images. Working in acrylic, mixed media and collage, themes of women from earlier works are developed into more universal/ mythological female images. Landscape themes in oil and acrylic are also explored in a more experimental and poetic manner. In recent years work has been selected for several major curated, selective exhibitions at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Art Centre. Her work is represented in many local and private overseas collections and can be viewed at various Sydney galleries.
